Thinking ORGANIZATION...with Junk...

Chipping with Charm: Getting Organized with Junk...http://chippingwithcharm.blogspot.com/

As I start the New Year, my mind always goes to "Fresh Start"...which means lots purging and re-organizing.
Here's a little peek back at 10 things we did here to get organized with JUNK in 2013.
Chipping with Charm: Getting Organized with Junk, Drawer Shelf...http://chippingwithcharm.blogspot.com/

I have always been a "collector"...I try to tame the "clutter" using shelves and vignettes.

Chipping with Charm: Getting Organized with Junk, Drawers and Crates Coffee Station...http://chippingwithcharm.blogspot.com/

We used drawers and crates galore for organizing in our Coffee Station gone CRAZY!!

Chipping with Charm: Getting Organized with Junk, Drawers and Salvaged Hooks in the Bathroom...http://chippingwithcharm.blogspot.com/

And we used another drawer and some salvaged hooks in our little Chippy Bathroom Redo.

And speaking of organizing small spaces...
We lofted the beds in both of our kids' rooms last year.

Chipping with Charm: Getting Organized with Junk, Kraut Cutter turned Memo Station...http://chippingwithcharm.blogspot.com/

Memo boards are great for getting things organized...even better when using salvaged and re-purposed finds.

Ladders get even more handy for organizing...

Chipping with Charm: Getting Organized with Junk, Stacked Benches to Book Shelf...http://chippingwithcharm.blogspot.com/

Love benches?
Stack them up for more space saving shelves.
This one doubles as a window seat.

Chipping with Charm: Getting Organized with Junk, Spool to spinning Spice Rack...http://chippingwithcharm.blogspot.com/

And, last but not least...
I am still loving my Spool Turned Spinning Spice Rack in the kitchen.

So are you ready to get organized for 2014?
I just need to finish packing up all those junk Christmas trees...

Rustic "Tree" Mantel...Christmas 2013

Chipping with Charm: Rustic "Tree" Mantel...http://www.chippingwithcharm.blogspot.com/

If you've been following my posts this Christmas, you might have noticed a bit of a "tree theme" going on here.

And my CRATE TREE?

Do you see the tree in my mantel?

The lights "highlight" the tree shape.

Do you like my tin "garland"?

Chipping with Charm: Large Barn Tin Star...http://www.chippingwithcharm.blogspot.com/

My husband cut out a bunch of stars from barn tin for our booth at ANTIQUES DOWNTOWN.  Of course I kept a few.  There are big ones...

...and smaller ones.

What do you think?  Can you see the "tree"?

Important safety note:
My husband informed me that the scarf might not be "safe" draped there in front of the fireplace...so it has been removed...sniff, sniff.  Some times I get carried away when "styling"...but nothing looks "cute" in a fire...unless its sweet, white and on a stick. Right??
