"Trash" to "Treasured"...junk cross

Chipping with Charm: Level Cross...http://www.chippingwithcharm.blogspot.com/

Can you believe I didn't do one bit of Easter decorating this year?  Not one egg, or bunny...I started out "too busy" and then got "too lazy".
With this extra special holiday coming up I decided to share a little project I did a while back.  I forgot to share it with you then but remembered recently when I gave one to my dad for his birthday...

Family Tree Tray...Photo Holder...

I have been making these metal tray memo/photo holders for a couple of years now.  They make great gifts!

So when I saw this one with a branch or tree imprint...I thought "How fun for a family tree" :)

This one even had little "feet" on the back...which made it really easy to add ribbon for hanging.

An assortment of magnets made from buttons, rusty washers and vintage earrings complete the look.

I sold an assortment of these tray memo boards at the Junk Market Under Glass event earlier this month.

This "mini" version was popular too :)

I made some of the magnets with the little "Bitty" Book Page Flowers...for fun.

And speaking of book page flowers...

This is the version I made for the March show.

I mixed up the flowers a little bit...and put them in these vintage glass knobs.  I think I even like these better.  Hmmm...wish I'd saved one for myself.  Guess I'll have to make some more :)

Thanks for stopping...enjoy your day!!!

Rusty Little Shoes...

These rusty little shoes were one of my best sellers at the Junk Market Under Glass show last week.

Pretty simple, but kinda cute :)

Just a little twine, a vintage buckle and an assortment of vintage jewels.

I made a bunch...and sold them all.  We girls like our shoes...no matter what the variety.

OK, so now I guess I'm done procrastinating...I'm tackling a big basement overhaul this weekend.  If I'm feeling gutsy I'll post before and after pictures next week.  But trust me when I say the before is not pretty!!!
Do you have big project plans this weekend?

Time Flies...

You know the saying..."Time Flies"...and in this case I took it literally :)

A bunch of vintage clocks, twiggy wreaths, shredded paper and cardboard wings.

I just drew the wings freehand and attached them with glue dots.  I didn't want to ruin the clock for a collector.

Little vintage dishes were the final touch to hold it all together.

Here they are all lined up at the Junk Market Under Glass show last weekend.  You can see more photos from our booth through the links below...

You might say I had a bit of a "wing thing" going...

Remember my Candlestick Angels?

Thanks so much for sticking with me, my friends...I hope to post more of my Junk Market Under Glass projects this week :)

Junk Market Under Glass...photo recap...Day Two...

Hello again :)
I'm still recovering here from last weekend's fun sale...I showed you pics from Day One yesterday.  If you missed it you can see that HERE.
We had a crazy fun first day...sold lots...so we reset, and dare I say I like Day Two better???  It's just a little bit more thinned out and a little bit less "hectic" so I can enjoy displaying a LOT more.  I'm still kind of a "newbie" when it comes to shows...and while displaying in my home is quite a passion for me...it opens up a whole new can of insecurities when you do it in a public space like that.  Can any of you relate???
So anyway...here's Day Two at JunkMarket Under Glass...

LOVE the addition of the green chairs with the pillows.  And the little trees in the file drawers :)

The gazebo in the middle was a fun focal point.  Our booth partner Larry from Country Junk made it using all salvaged materials.  It sold on the second day...and lucky for us they decided to wait to pick it up until after the show.

My other booth buddy, Joan makes the amazing signs and pillows...this might be my favorite one EVER.  Wish I had a wall left to put it on at my house ;)

Of course there were a "few" wreaths.

The ladder got a new look too...don't you just love ladders?  One can never have too many.  The perfect junk show accessory ;)

Day three was crazy from the moment I stepped in the door...I never took another picture!!  But here's a photo Joan took of some of the shoppers and Larry's wife Cindy working hard :)

So there you have it...what a fun weekend!!  Did I say WOW???  I met and saw so many fun people...I don't think I'll try to mention all the names for fear I'll miss somebody!  But a big thanks to everyone who came out...let's do it all again next year OK?

Junk Market Under Glass, March 2012...a photo recap...day one...

Well, JunkMarket Under Glass is done for now...
And all I can say is WOW, WOW, WOW!!!
Such a perfect mix of style and creativity in one place...
Here are a few photos of our booth like I promised.  I'll keep the words to a minimum since frankly, I'm outta words.  Imagine that?  So here goes...

Day One...

On Thursday Sue Whitney of Junk Market Style did fun table setting on Twin Cities Live.  And she used a few pieces from our booth...

Isn't her table setting lovely?  LOVE those box side "chargers"...my Wine Springs made an appearance ;)

She added a little bit of moss to my rusty drill bit bouquet and turned them into a chairback masterpiece...LOVE :)

You can see the whole segment on Twin Cities Live...HERE :)

Well, that's some of the fun for day one...we sold lots and switched things up a bit for day two...so of course, I took more pictures.  I don't want to send you into "photo over load"...so I'll save day two for a separate post...

Thanks  for stopping...
I hope you'll stop back for "Day Two" tomorrow :)
