Just a Peek...Junk Market Under Glass, March Madness

So I think I "might" have told you I have a show coming up??? ;)
I'll give you just a little hint of a few of the things I've been working on...

Well, like I said...just a little peek.  We atart our set up tomorrow...and then I'll come home and work like a "crazy woman" all weekend and then we'll finish setting up on Wed.  Of course I'll show you pictures of our booth and more pictures of my individual projects...after the show when I've got my brains and my time back.
If you need more info on the Junk Market Under Glass show...you can find that HERE.
If you are anywhere near Long Lake, MN...you won't want to miss it!!  You can see a list of some of the amazing and talented vendors HERE.  Seriously...I can't wait to shop :)

"Angelic" Makeover...

So you might remember these...

The candle stick finials I made a while back...you can see that post HERE.

I just thought they were pretty little "set abouts"...and after carting them to 2 stores and a couple of shows...and selling one or two...I decided maybe they needed a new life, a change, a fresh start...been there :)

I roughly cut the wings out of cardboard...using my hands as a template...just like I did my Springy Angels.

Remember these?  If not...see more HERE.

I adjusted the pattern a little bit for the smaller ones.  If my kiddos would have been home I would have used their little hands...next time :)

Wrapped the base in twine...and added a little vintage sparkle.

The wings are just clipped on with little mini clothes pins in the back...simple and sweet I think.

And now these little "lovelies" are going to head out to one more show...

Wish them luck :)

JunkMarket Under Glass...March Madness Event!!

So here I am again...apologizing that I won't be "out and about" much for the next couple of weeks.  I need to use every spare minute to prepare this fun sale!!!  The September and January shows were so much fun...I can't wait to do it all again :)
(More info HERE)

I'll be sharing a booth with my friends from The Country Junk Sale and Signs of the Times again...only this time we'll have a double booth.  More room to spread out...and bring more junk!!

Larry (Country Junk) sent me this picture of the gazebo he made for our booth.  Fun huh?  Check out that galvanized roof...love!

So thanks again for understanding...
I'll try to drop in here and there to post some pictures as I'm preparing...

And if you are coming...be sure to introduce yourself...and Bliss...from Bliss Ranch...that means you too!! ;)

Old Windows...

Old windows...gotta love them.  I have tons of them...in my garage.
When I saw the theme for Saturday Nite Special over at Funky Junk Interiors I thought "Fun...I've got lots of great ideas for those".  Then I realized...ideas are all I have.  The windows pile up but I have yet to accomplish much :)

Then I remembered these "Honeys"...my husband and I got these old chippy windows 11 1/2 years ago on our Honeymoon.  I posted about these special windows and the hutch my sweet husband made around them in one of my very first blog posts...way back when.  You can see the original post HERE...Sentimental Junk.

And here is another one...we got this window on our first anniversary getaway.

You might also remember that little house he made for me. I'm trying it out in a new "home" above the smaller cupboard.

I'm not really thrilled about the placement...but it's the only other spot besides the top of the hutch where it has ALWAYS been...and you know sometimes a girl just needs a little change. If you read that Sentimental Junk post you know that it is a VERY special piece...but it is also a very BIG piece :)

So anyway, those are my old windows...I'll be linking them up over at Funky Junk Interiors for Sat Nite Special...and then I'm going to go peek around to see if I can get some more inspiration for the ones I've been hoarding collecting in my garage.
See you there :)

Book Cover Signs...

Hello, it's me again...are you surprised?  My posts have been fairly sparse these last couple of months...and now BOOM...4 in a row.  I'm on a roll :)
I just wanted to show you another little project I did recently...might even be fitting for Valentine's day if you wish.

Do you remember these little book page signs I used at Christmas in my "Clippy Wreaths"?
Well, I decided to make a few more...

So I grabbed a few old Readers Digests...these had pretty "Spring-like" covers on them.  I used a razor blade to remove the pages.  (These pages were nice and "yellowed" so those will come in handy for other projects.)

Then I drilled holes for hanging...
I used Gorilla Super Glue to attach washers over the holes to give them a more "finished" look.  I left the edges where I cut rough...I think the frayed edges add character.

Old book pages, gray paint and stamped words finish them off.

I used hem tape for the ribbon, just because.
There you have a sweet little sign for someone you "adore".

Thanks for the visit :)

Joining in on the Linky Blog Hop...

I'm guessing you've heard about the changes happening with Google Friend Connect and the new Linky Followers tool. If not, here's a link to It's So Very Cheri...RIGHT HERE :)
I'll let her tell you all about it :)

As a Blogger blog I will still have Google Friend Connect...for a time anyway. I am joining Linky Followers to show support for my non-Blogger friends who have worked so hard to build up their following...and to add one more fun way for us to stay connected. Seems like I might as well join in the fun now while everybody is out and about :)

I've been doing my best to watch for you and to follow back...but to be sure, go ahead and leave me a comment...that way I'll be sure to find you.

Then come on over and join the Blog Hop...

Find some old friends and make some new ones :)

All that said...for me blogging really isn't about numbers...it's about sharing ideas and connecting with YOU!!!
Sooo...thank you for all of your sweet comments, and amazing encouragement.  Even though I can't always get out to visit as much as I would like, I really do my best to respond and/or visit those who stop by to say hi.  So if you feel "at home" here at Chipping with Charm...I hope that you will stop back often and follow along however you would like :)

Blessings to you,

Metal Ruler "Pin Board"...

I know, I know...in this age of "online pin boards"...(which I enjoy very, VERY much by the way)...there isn't much need for an old fashioned "Inspiration Board" anymore is there?
But don't you just every once in a while want to rip something out of a magazine or catalog and hang it on the wall like the "old days"?

This is a little simple idea that works slick in my office/guestroom.

A couple of metal rulers and some cute push pins do the trick.
"Think First..."  Always a good reminder :)

It was kind of hard getting good shots of this.  But I think you get the "picture"...oh yeah, they'd be great for photos too ;)

"Bitty" Flowers...how to...

You might remember these little bitty flowers I posted about last week before the Junk Market Trunk Show.
I told you I'd tell you how I made them...
I got my inspiration from all those pretty little button and paper flower bouquets out in Blogland and on Pinterest.

Here's how I made my version...

I grabbed a couple of these flower shaped paper punches...

And "went to town" punching out these little cuties.

Then I layered them up...one of each shape and a little button.

I used a little mini glue dot in between each layer to hold them together...not necessary but it made it a little easier for me.

Then I snipped a little wire and poked it through the holes.

And twisted it.

And there you go...very easy, but time consuming if you want to make a bunch :)

I had a few of these decanter lids on hand for vases.  I love the little touch of cork.
Cork, buttons and book pages...a few of my favorite things :)

Thanks so much for stopping by...
