Book Cover Signs...

Hello, it's me again...are you surprised?  My posts have been fairly sparse these last couple of months...and now BOOM...4 in a row.  I'm on a roll :)
I just wanted to show you another little project I did recently...might even be fitting for Valentine's day if you wish.

Do you remember these little book page signs I used at Christmas in my "Clippy Wreaths"?
Well, I decided to make a few more...

So I grabbed a few old Readers Digests...these had pretty "Spring-like" covers on them.  I used a razor blade to remove the pages.  (These pages were nice and "yellowed" so those will come in handy for other projects.)

Then I drilled holes for hanging...
I used Gorilla Super Glue to attach washers over the holes to give them a more "finished" look.  I left the edges where I cut rough...I think the frayed edges add character.

Old book pages, gray paint and stamped words finish them off.

I used hem tape for the ribbon, just because.
There you have a sweet little sign for someone you "adore".

Thanks for the visit :)

  1. You were already in the 'well hmmm' category with me. That means when I see your creativity I'm like 'well hmmm, who would-a-thunk'...... a Readers Digest could make that.

  14. Love what you've done with these! I've got a think for old RD book covers and you've got some of the older prettier ones. I used some to make some journals but my inside 'failed' and I just can't motive myself to rework them, just need to get started.....instead of daydreaming in blogland and pinterest. Ha!
