Benches to Book Shelf...and a window seat...

Well folks...did I mention I'm in a bit of a "Junk Slump"??  I am...I haven't had much time to get creative lately and when I have the motivation just wasn't there.  Been there??
I have the day to "myself" today so I'm hoping to find my "creative side" again...but I decided to stop in for a visit and show you one little thing I did this week...

I've had this long white bench by my front window as far back as I can remember...

...and when I brought this little grey bench home from our booth last weekend I decided it was too cute to "hide" in the shed.
So I plopped it one top and added some plants and blue jars...

I just LOVE empty blue jars in a sunny spot...they might get flowers now and then but I like them "as is" too :)

Add a couple of pillows and now I can call it a "window seat".

This is one of my favorite views at our house...here we see deer, fox, pheasants, ducks and more.  My kids have been climbing up on that bench to wave hi and goodbye since they could walk.  It's a special spot :)
Think maybe I should grab another cup of coffee and one of those great idea books and go look for some inspiration...I'll let you know if I "find" it.

More Ladder Love...

Are you loving all the fun ideas using ladders these days?

If so, hop over and check out the new board I curated over at Hometalk...
"In LOVE with Ladders"

You know I've posted a few ladder ideas...but I am always on the hunt for more clever re-purposes.  When I started clipping ideas from the other creative "Hometalkers" I couldn't stop...23 charming re-uses to be exact.  Do you suppose now that they made me this cute little banner for my board I have to stop??  Doubt it :)

Do you have a clever ladder idea?  Hop over and post it on HOMETALK.  It's another great place to share ALL of your DIY and decorating ideas.  Need ideas for ladders, doors, windows...whatever??  There's PLENTY of inspiration to keep you coming back for more.  You'll probably want to start some inspiration boards for yourself...it's easy and FUN.

Check it out...and be sure to say "Hi" while you're there!

Old Drawers to End Tables...

I finally did a project with yardsticks!

I had a few of these old rustic drawers in my "stash".

My handy husband welded up some bases for me...

...and attached them to the inside of the drawer.

Then I stared playing with the yardsticks and bead board.  I had 3 tables to fill so it was a bit of a puzzle to get it to fit.

I attached the pieces with a little Gorilla wood glue and piled it with books to dry...

"Perfectly Imperfect"...just the way I like it :)

One for me...and I brought the other 2 to Antiques Downtown.
One in the window.
And one in our booth.
Another project down...a "million" more to go :)

"Nesting" at the Shop...planter basket "birdcage"...

Hello friends...sorry I haven't been around much these last few weeks.  We were actually in Florida over Spring break...and now I am still playing "catch up" here.

I haven't had much "project time" here...but we did do a little "nesting" in the window and our booth at Antiques Downtown before I left.  Here's something I haven't shared yet...

I had a couple of these planter baskets...

...put them together and what do you get??

Looks like a birdcage to me :)

I just tied them together with twine and added some ribbon and a vintage pin...

...and clipped on some paper pretties inside...

...and out.

Here it is in the window at the shop.

Thinking Spring.

I made these hanging planters into nests too....single...

...and double.

Of course there are other "nests" tucked in here and there too.

Who could resit that face?

And yes, we're still waiting for Spring here in MN...in fact there is snow in the forecast today :(
Joan and I are heading back to the shop today...the shop is having a sale this Friday through Sunday (April 12-14) so we're going to "pretty it up" a little.  I'll take some more photos of our booth when were done and post them on Facebook tonight.  So hop on over and like Chipping with Charm if you are interested...
