Milk Can Lid...for the birds

Yet another simple little idea I don't think I've shown you???  A little rusty milk can lid turned bird feeder.  I got a bunch of these lids on an auction a couple of years ago, so I am always looking for new ways to use them...

You might remember this one I planted up...OUT FRONT.

Well this one we hung from wire in a tree...OUT BACK.

It originally had bird seed in it for a bird feeder...as you can see, water has replaced the seeds.  So now it's a "bird bath".  Our birds are clean...but hungry.  Guess I need to get more seed!!

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!!  I'm hoping to get some more projects done...my mind is literally "floating" with ideas...been there???

  1. What a fun idea! I love the one you planted and the way you have it displayed. At least you don't have to worry about your bird bath getting rusty! Clean birds are happy birds:-)

  2. I like all those ideas! Very cute.
Yeah, my mind is floating, too. Much to my husband's dismay! He's a "finish one before you start another" kind of person. I, unfortunately, am not!

  4. Ha! love the rust on your milk can lid.
The Honey made a seed feeder out of an old enamel ware coffee pot lid... "Rocky" our resident squirrel loves to eat the corn out of it!

  5. Hi Laurel,

This is so cool!! I love it!! I've never even seen one of these before ~ love the rusty, crusty-ness of it and how you've got it hanging from a tree, totally cool!

    Thanx for the inspiration, Shelly

  8. Love that the bird bath is hanging rather than on a pedestal. Great idea.

  10. I read that you got a bunch of those lids at an auction, I was brought to your blog because I am doing a search currently for one 10 gallon milk can lid - would you consider selling one of your other lids? I know, crazy question to pop up on a blog!!
