Chipping with Charm: Mystery Junk, mini molds and more insulators for Christmas...http://www.chippingwithcharm.blogspot.com/

Chipping with Charm: Mystery Junk, mini molds and more insulators for Christmas...http://www.chippingwithcharm.blogspot.com/

Does anybody know what this is?
I have no clue what it was...

But add a perfectly chippy salvaged gray trim piece...

...and a little snow and some mini trees.

Chipping with Charm: mini molds and insulator votive holder...http://www.chippingwithcharm.blogspot.com/

I made these little votive holders a few years ago by gluing a little ceramic insulator to a mini mold...perfect spot for a tiny tree :)

And you've got yourself another simple, junky decorating idea.

I gave it a place of "honor" in the guest bathroom :)

A Quick Re-purposed Shovel Idea...and a Junkers United "Save the Date"...

Chipping with Charm: Red Shovel Photo Holder...http://www.chippingwithcharm.blogspot.com/

Hello friends :)

This little red shovel handle is another thing I brought to our booth at Antiques Downtown.

The snowman buttons are on magnets...it would be a fun place to display a photo of some "real" snow playing kiddos too.
No snow here in MN yet...but maybe soon??
I LOVE the first snow...especially in time for the holidays.
I can't believe Thanksgiving is next week!
I am doing the decorating for a "Redeeming the Season" event at church tonight...so I am in "the mood" for the festivities to begin.  How about you??

Speaking of "festivities"...
Did you hear about the next Junkers United party?
Save the Date...December 2nd will be here before you know it.
A few more bloggers have joined in the fun!!
Be sure to get your own Christmas junk ready for the link party!!

Broken Lantern + Ball Jar = Snow Globe

Chipping with Charm: Lantern+Ball Jar=Snow Globe...http://www.chippingwithcharm.blogspot.com/

Sorry I have been MIA again this week...still busy decorating and creating.  I LOVE this time of year...and for me it's not just a matter of opening some bins and putting stuff out.  I like to use things I have and create a new look each year.  Time consuming...but for me it's a little piece of Heaven on earth.  Really.

And since I'm not ready for a "reveal" of what I've been working on here...I thought I'd show you something else I made for our booth at Antiques Downtown...

Chipping with Charm: Lantern+Ball Jar=Snow Globe...http://www.chippingwithcharm.blogspot.com/

I bought this empty shell of a lantern at an occasional sale...

Chipping with Charm: Lantern+Ball Jar=Snow Globe...http://www.chippingwithcharm.blogspot.com/

...it was the perfect fit for a ball jar.

Chipping with Charm: Lantern+Ball Jar=Snow Globe...http://www.chippingwithcharm.blogspot.com/

I painted the lid aqua for fun.

Chipping with Charm: Lantern+Ball Jar=Snow Globe...http://www.chippingwithcharm.blogspot.com/

Some "snow" and a little tree...

Chipping with Charm: Lantern+Ball Jar=Snow Globe...http://www.chippingwithcharm.blogspot.com/

...and of course a happy little "embellishment".

Chipping with Charm: Lantern+Ball Jar=Snow Globe...http://www.chippingwithcharm.blogspot.com/

Cute little decoration for the Holidays.
It sold right away :)

Crates and a Plate Christmas Tree...obsessed...

Chipping with Charm: Crate and Plate Christmas Tree...http://www.chippingwithcharm.blogspot.com/

OK friends, I'm just going to go ahead and say it early on...I am OBSESSED with salvaged and re-purposed tree ideas this year!!

I've already shared a couple...

Chipping with Charm: Photo Holder Christmas Tree...http://www.chippingwithcharm.blogspot.com/

Chipping with Charm: Glass Insulator Christmas Tree...http://www.chippingwithcharm.blogspot.com/

And next there were the INSULATOR TREES.

Chipping with Charm: Crates and a Plate Christmas Tree...http://www.chippingwithcharm.blogspot.com/

Now I want to show you my crate tree.

I fell in LOVE with the crate tree that Laura from Finding Home made last year.  That's where my inspiration came from.
See her original version (among other great handmade gift ideas)...
Thanks Laura!!

Chipping with Charm: Crates and a Plate Christmas Tree...http://www.chippingwithcharm.blogspot.com/

For mine I started with a yardstick.

Chipping with Charm: Crates and a Plate Christmas Tree...http://www.chippingwithcharm.blogspot.com/

Then I used small screws to add some crates I already had in my stash.  I also added a license plate for fun too.

Chipping with Charm: Crates and a Plate Christmas Tree...http://www.chippingwithcharm.blogspot.com/

The yardstick was the perfect length...even a little extra for a "trunk" at the bottom :)

Chipping with Charm: Crates and a Plate Christmas Tree...http://www.chippingwithcharm.blogspot.com/

The finishing touch is a star ornament I bought at an occasional sale last Christmas.

And now is hangs nicely in my partly decorated "sitting room".

Are you "obsessed" with unique tree ideas too??

"Christmas in a Canister" revisited...is it a sign or a snow globe??

Chipping with Charm: Christmas in a Canister...http://www.chippingwithcharm.blogspot.com/

I shared this idea a while back...maybe you remember it?

I called it Christmas in a Canister...for lack of a better name.  I can't really figure out what exactly it is...

Chipping with Charm: Christmas in a Canister...http://www.chippingwithcharm.blogspot.com/

...a glass flat sided canister, some snow and a rolled up piece of sheet music.

Chipping with Charm: Christmas in a Canister...http://www.chippingwithcharm.blogspot.com/

And of course a little embellishment...does that surprise you?  I like that the keys say "star"...did you notice?

Chipping with Charm: Christmas in a Canister...http://www.chippingwithcharm.blogspot.com/

Chipping with Charm: Christmas in a Canister...http://www.chippingwithcharm.blogspot.com/

This time I made some little "baby" ones too.

Chipping with Charm: Christmas in a Canister...http://www.chippingwithcharm.blogspot.com/

And then I brought them to our booth at Antiques Downtown.

So what do you think it is?  A sign?  A snow "canister"?  Not sure, but the last time I made them (for a different shop) they sold out fast...we'll see :)

I'll be working at the shop tomorrow...we'll be adding some "twinkle".  I'll try to remember to take some better pictures to show you...

Aqua Glass Insulator Trees...more early Christmas ideas...

Chipping with Charm: Aqua Glass Insulator Trees...http://chippingwithcharm.blogspot.com/

Another tree project for our booth at Antiques Downtown.

Chipping with Charm: Aqua Glass Insulator Trees...http://chippingwithcharm.blogspot.com/

Last Christmas I shared some a "tree" I assembled using a blue glass insulator and a chippy light fixture base...visit that post HERE.

Chipping with Charm: Aqua Glass Insulator Trees...http://chippingwithcharm.blogspot.com/

This year I took that idea and "ran" with it.

Chipping with Charm: Aqua Glass Insulator Trees...http://chippingwithcharm.blogspot.com/

I made short ones...

Chipping with Charm: Aqua Glass Insulator Trees...http://chippingwithcharm.blogspot.com/

...and tall ones.
Some had the wood still attached, which made fun "trunks".

Chipping with Charm: Aqua Glass Insulator Trees...http://chippingwithcharm.blogspot.com/

I just love them all grouped together in a little "forest".

Chipping with Charm: Aqua Glass Insulator Trees...http://chippingwithcharm.blogspot.com/

All you need is a base...I used bases from an old pull cord light.
I glued the glass insulators to the base with "Amazing Goop" glue.

Thanks for visiting...

Photo Holder Christmas Tree...my first official Christmas project...

Chipping with Charm: Postcard Holder to Christmas Tree...http://www.chippingwithcharm.blogspot.com/

Well, it's official...I'm thinking Christmas.

Chipping with Charm: Our booth "Christmas Trees For Sale"...http://www.chippingwithcharm.blogspot.com/

We added Christmas to our booth at Antiques Downtown last week...so that got me going.

Chipping with Charm: Our booth "Christmas Trees For Sale"...http://www.chippingwithcharm.blogspot.com/

We decided on a "Christmas Trees for Sale" theme...so I've been focusing on re-purposed tree ideas.

(These are just a couple of quick pictures I took with my phone.  We plan to go back and add some twinkle lights...so I'll take better pictures then to show you more.)

Chipping with Charm: Postcard Holder to Christmas Tree, before...http://www.chippingwithcharm.blogspot.com/

And now everything is starting to look like a "tree"...including this old post card holder.

Chipping with Charm: Postcard Holder to Christmas Tree...http://www.chippingwithcharm.blogspot.com/

I just tied on some twine in a tree shape...top to bottom.

Chipping with Charm: Postcard Holder to Christmas Tree...http://www.chippingwithcharm.blogspot.com/

Added some keys and buttons for "ornaments".

Chipping with Charm: Postcard Holder to Christmas Tree...http://www.chippingwithcharm.blogspot.com/

And of course you need a pretty "topper".

Chipping with Charm: Postcard Holder to Christmas Tree...http://www.chippingwithcharm.blogspot.com/

Just add photos or cards and you've got yourself a conversation piece for the Holidays.

So how about you...ready to get started on Christmas??  Before blogging I always waited until the weekend after Thanksgiving.  But since I'm already in the "spirit" and I don't entertain for Thanksgiving...I'm thinking I might as well get started.  Then I can enjoy it for the whole month of December :)
