My "Type" of Storage :)

So I went into my son's room this morning to take a couple of pictures of the flag my husband made a few years ago...

...because I wanted to join in the fun over at Funky Junk Interiors...Patriotic Projects.

My hubby made a bunch of these flags a while back for friends and family.  He used 1 X 4 rough cut lumber and corrugated metal.
My son's name starts with an "L" we've got an "L thing" going on in here :)

And while I was in there...I realized I never showed you the fun idea we came up with for showing off his Lego mini figure collection.

They fit perfectly in this old type tray...don't you think?

I (of course) let him to the arranging...looks like he's hoping to collect a "few" more Bey Blades doesn't it? :)
My "type" of storage...I'm gonna make a "junker" out of him yet!

Thanks for visiting!

  1. Love the flag that your husband made....I think mine needs more training:-) What a sweet idea to use the old drawer for displaying the Lego people. Very clever!!

  2. I love the flag! We have a printer tray that I keep staring at wondering how I want to use it. It may get a coat of orange paint and become lego display as well.

  3. Pinned the flag. Mr. CWC did good.

  4. too funny! we are twins indeed. At this very moment, my son is making 'embellished' lego figures by painting on them and gluing extra parts to some (hmmm junker indeed making use of 'spare parts') happy day to you!

  5. I use my printer's box as a hanging jewelry organizer. I love the idea of using it for Lego though! Loving the flag as well : o )

  6. A tintype is a photograph. Your type "tray" is actually a drawer from a cabinet that held printer's type in a print shop. The letters, numbers, and symbols went into specific sections of the drawer. It wasn't random.

  7. I LOVE that flag!! It's even better than the wooden ones I've been seeing everywhere!
The printers box is great! It showcases those lego men perfectly.
(what the heck is anonymous talking about? You didn't call it a tintype!)

  8. My husband made that flag 10-12 years ago now...he's the one who actually introduced me to "re-using"...who knew I'd take it and run...haha!
And yes, I did accidently refer to the try as a "tin type tray"...ooops...but I fixed it. Type tray it is :)
Thanks everybody...your comments and encouragement keep me coming back for more!!

  9. I LOVE this kind of storage - so simple, so beautiful and so... personal. It reminds me of Vanessa's (Nifty Thrifty) crafty storage! Every little piece at it's place, in perfect display! Thank you for leaving a sweet comment on my beachy living room :)
