Ever see something at a thrift store that you have to have...but have no idea why?
When I saw these plant stands at the thrift store, I walked by...then turned around and walked back...and bought all 4...oink, oink right?
I tend to lean toward "old"...and these were not "old", but I decided they had "potential" for something??
Then I stopped at an antique store and noticed an old oil pan outside...flipped upside down so the rain wouldn't "pool"...and it hit me.
This cozy spot...just got cozier.
Now I just need 3 more oil pans...better check out in my hubby's garage :)

Thanks for the visit!!
Chat soon,
Great idea.. Love that you shared it with us. Enjoy the rest of the week!
ReplyDeleteWonderful idea. I love that you bought all four. I suppose cushions are out of the question and they are too short for stools?
ReplyDeleteWell, maybe some nice pallet wood...will help out, if you can find the pans. They have pans similar to the one you've used at the Tractor Supply store... I think they are feed pans, or something. You have a ton of options... Can you tell, I'm trying to be helpful? lol... :) Pat
AAAHHH! I love it!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun idea, Laurel! I love how you always think outside the box! Great marriage of pieces!
ReplyDeleteLove this idea. It is great. You did so good coming up with this one. We actually have these kinds of pans or waterers all over our property We live on a small farm (chicken ranch), I love the galvanized metal look you have created! Enjoyed your blog too.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Debbie
Clever idea with nice results ! Congratulations!

Very smart! How about cutting an old piece of wood into a circle the size you want and attaching it to the top? ... or an old table top.... or a big old tray?... You could make a set of these all different... just saying :) Great project legs!

ReplyDeleteCreative, fun idea for an outdoor side table...and GREAT book :) I'm on my second way through the book right now..and working on filling my cup with gratitude :)
ReplyDeleteFabulous Laurel, what a great imagination you have. A perfect "old meets new" combination!
ReplyDeleteGenius! Have fun searching for more oil pans!
ReplyDeleteVery cute indeed. That's the best application for an oil pan I have ever seen.
ReplyDeleteI've got 3 of those plant stands hanging in our garage! Oink, oink. Now I'll be on the lookout for some oil pans to make my own tables. Thanks for the oh-so-clever idea!
ReplyDeleteHow clever. I was strangely drawn to an old oil pan at a recent estate sale and I had no idea why. Who knew I could have made a table with it!
ReplyDeleteI dig those side tables!
ReplyDeleteWay to go, Laurel!
Thanks for another clever idea.
Sandy
Very cool and unique table! Love your daughter's room and all her little collections!
ReplyDeleteI set the date for the get together...Sept 29th and sure hope you can make it!
Warmly,
deb
Hey! Isn't that funny! I came over to check out your blog (because you commented on mine) and I see you just turned a plant stand into a side table, too!! But so totally different - I love this - and i would have bought ALL FOUR as well. It's rare, when thrifting, to be able to make multiples of something. I think you should do different tops for each one!

I love it, so clever! I only WISH I was smart enough to buy something that makes me turn for a 2nd look sometimes! It seems like I leave more stuff behind because I don't have an immediate vision and then regret that decision later! LOL!
ReplyDeleteTania
Perfect! Unique, functional, and just looks really cool!
ReplyDeleteSusan
Oooh, I love those! They'd make great stools/seats too. A little plywood, some foam and fabric! So many possibilities! Great find. Just a smidge jealous. : )
ReplyDeleteSmiles!

ReplyDeleteCute table!! It looks great there too, it soooo goes!
ReplyDeleteClever with a capital "C"
ReplyDeleteWhat a great way to make use of these old plant stands...and I think 4 is the perfect number!
ReplyDeleteI love how your mind works. You just have a great ability with this kind of stuff to put two and two together.
