Late Bloomers...

I'm still kind of a "newbie" to blogging but I've been posting my ideas on JunkMarket Style for a while now. I decided to post a few of my past JunkMarket Style share with my new blogging friends. And I'm hoping my JMS friends don't mind seeing them again :)

I'm sure I'm not the only one who finds these old shoe stretchers all over the place for cheap. Whenever I see "cheap", I can hardly resist scooping them all up and waiting for an idea to hit after years of stinky shoe stretching and then a few more years of hanging out in a pile in my garage, they get a new life and a new look...

I suppose I could have painted these all one color but I preferred the different colors and their "less than perfect" appearance.

These old shoe stretchers got a new job and a new look...blooming with vintage bobbles...Rusty washers, vintage earrings and buttons...

...old enamel pins, a favorite of mine...all attached with Gorilla Super Glue...

Here they are, just laying there looking pretty...

Also looking lovely on this perfectly crusty grate...

I made enough for a whole junky was a little challenging getting them arranged since they are fairly top heavy...

...but strategically placed sheet music did the trick.

And I recently made a bunch of "white on white" flowers for an event...don't you think these would be fun for a wedding?

OK now...head over to JunkMarket Style and prepare to be inspired!!!

  12. OK, so I have been thinking about these stretchers since I saw them on here last week. I had a thought that I HAD to share with you! They would be soooooo cute as the directionals (does that make sense??) on a weather vane!! How CUTE would that be? It wouldn't even have to be a functional weather vane. You are so clever, you could come up with somthing as the base for it and I think it would be so cute on a table top or such. What do you think?

Please come follow me at The Crafty Side Of Life!

  13. oh man, I can hardly stand the cute and quirkyness of these. I love it!
