Repurposed Candle Holder Angel...
This sweet angel started out as a milk glass candle holder.
Chippy architectural salvaged wings.
A rusty halo...
...and a bit of sparkle.
I think this little creation will make her first "appearance" at the March Market at 3:17 Vintage. Signs of the Times and I will be sharing the "guest vendor" spot.
You should check out this treasure of a shop in Afton, MN!
You are all invited...

"Mystery Junk" for Christmas...mini trees and more insulators...
Does anybody know what this is?
I have no clue what it was...
But add a perfectly chippy salvaged gray trim piece...
And you've got yourself another simple, junky decorating idea.
I gave it a place of "honor" in the guest bathroom :)

The kiddos are off of school this week for Thanksgiving...so you might not hear much from me.
Enjoy every minute :)

I made these little votive holders a few years ago by gluing a little ceramic insulator to a mini mold...perfect spot for a tiny tree :)

Let it Shine...rusty bed spring candle holders...
Hello friends...I am still "coming down" after and AMAZING weekend retreat with some beautiful ladies from my church!
God is so good!
I had the joy of putting together a little "re-purposing" project for my friends.
I kept it simple...rusty spring and a little "bling".
I also printed out a verse on clear 2X4 shipping labels to stick to the votive candle...
You are the
light of the world.
A city on a
hill cannot be hidden.
Neither do
people light a lamp and put it under a bowl.
Instead they
put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house.
In the same
way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and
praise your Father in heaven.
Matthew

"Fitting" don't you think??
Let it SHINE ladies...let it SHINE :)

Another Garden Tool Re-assigned...the perfect shovel for candles
You may have noticed a little "theme" going on here at CwC :)
I have been having fun playing and re-assigning some old garden tools to new "jobs" in my home...
This little shovel now holds a photo.
And in that same post I showed you how I used a hand rake "4 keys" :)
Then yesterday, I shared my version of the popular "Rake Wreath"
And today...last but not least...
...I'll show you this fun little shovel top I picked up at the Country Junk Sale last weekend. Perfectly rusty, I just cleaned him up...sprayed him with a matte poly and put him to work holding some candles and a gourd.
And did you see my sign back there? I bought that from my friend and "booth buddy" Joan from our new spot at Antiques Downtown. Don't you love it? It's on an old chair back...appropriate don't you think? Sometimes we all need a little reminder...
The Lord will fight for you; you need only be still.
Exodus 14:14
This verse has helped me through some "rough patches" in the last few months...and now it has extra special meaning to me because it reminds my of my friend Vicki at More Powerful Beyond Measure. She is fighting the fight of her life against breast cancer. After I read that post, I told her about Joan's sign in our booth and I told her that every time I saw it I would say a prayer for her...well Vicki, now it's at my house!!! Saying even more prayers for you my friend!!
So I think that's the last of the "garden tool" posts for now...but probably not forever :)

Hope everyone has a great weekend!
I have lots of creating to do :)
