Hello friends...sorry I've been out of the loop this week. I've been busy catching up at home after a little getaway with my high school girlfriends over the weekend. So fun to hang out as grownups and laugh about life 20 years ago :)
I also had the fun "job" of coming up with centerpieces for the annual Dessert Night for the women at my church last night. The talk was on developing Godly friendships. Here's a little "peek" at what I came up with...
And of course I forgot my camera at home so I'm showing you shots of the "practice round" on my kitchen table :)
Tarnished coffee pots...
Stacks of old books...bought at the Goodwill in the .15 cent bin. Love the title page on this one "Precious in His Sight".
And old "girlfriend" photos tucked in here and there :)
And some "fall" in the form of real pumpkins and leaves cut from book pages.
There you have it...pretty simple. But I am finding that the less is more when it comes to this kind of thing. No fun hauling all those bins in and out, out and in.
And while I was "practicing" on one table at my house...my "littlest charmer" was using the other pieces to arrange a little centerpiece of her own. Like mother like daughter :)
Thanks for stopping by and for all of your sweet comments. They truly make my day!!!
My weekend starts tomorrow because of MEA...teacher work shops. No school for the kiddos until Monday. So have a great weekend :)

How lucky to get away with the girls...I bet you had a ball. I could use a weekend like that!
ReplyDeleteYour centerpiece looks lovely in the planning stages. I love how your little girl tried to replicate it! I remember when mine were that age, having tea parties...I loved that!
Hope the rest of your week is wonderful!

Jane

It is always nice to get away with old friends. Love the combo of the tea pot and gourds. Laura Cottage and Broome
ReplyDeleteI love your idea of the gourds on the teapot - will have to save this idea!
ReplyDeleteI get the idea from your practice photos....they're wonderful. So simple, yet so elegant. Thanks so much for sharing.
ReplyDeleteYour centerpiece is so elegant and interesting! I really very appreciate with all these information which you can share here, it is good for giving a new look to my room.
ReplyDeleteThose leaves in bookpage paper are darling! That would make a cute garland! You did a great job on the table center pieces! Tablescapes are not easy for me....Thanks for the inspiration!
ReplyDeleteLove the idea of your little pumpkins on the silver teapot. I'm going to remember this idea.
ReplyDeleteHow cute that your daughter is making her own centerpiece.
It's so pretty. Silver teapots and pumpkins - - what's not to LOVE!
ReplyDeleteCoffee pots...you couldn't have picked a better symbol for friendship! Love it.
ReplyDeleteLaurel I'm so happy you were able to get away for some Fellowship with long time Friends that you share History with... that is always so special and the older I get the more I appreciate it. In the Winter Season of Life I realize that if I met a new Friend right this Moment it would of coarse be great, but I could never live long enough to share the same amount of History that I do with my long time Friends from my Youth.
ReplyDeleteI'm still Smiling at your little one's vignette... we're raising two of our G-Kids and they are adept Vignette Makers & thoroughly enjoy it... guess my influence is stronger than I imagined?! *winks*
