Apple Basket Lid to Rustic Snowflake...let it snow...

Chipping with Charm: Basket Lid Snowflakes...http://www.chippingwithcharm.blogspot.com/
You may have heard that Minnesota got a "little" snow yesterday.  A little early for most considering our winter was so VERY long last year.  I decided to make the most of it and finish up a project that has been in my head for a while...

I purchased a few of these rustic apple basket lids at the Junk Bonanza in September.  The first thing I saw was a snowflake.  Do you see it too?
I took a sponge brush and some white craft paint and literally slapped it on.  Keeping with the "rustic", perfectly/imperfect look that I love.
Then I used letter stamps to add a first snow "appropriate" words...

I "wonder" why it had to snow so soon ;)

Actually, when you live with these 2 happy kiddos...how can you not find...

JOY...
...and DELIGHT in the WONDER of the first snow?
Especially when that results in a "Snow Day" off from school :)

You might also remember the basket lids turned chalkboard signs I made last fall.

What do you think?
Does the snow inspire you to "cozy up" and do some projects?

  7. No way! Those are so cute! I have about ten of those sitting in my garage just collecting dust and spiders when I could have been making "cool" snowflakes with them. Great idea!!! BTW, the Buckeyes are coming up that way this weekend. Can you make it a little bit warmer for them?

  13. It feels like winter here, we received only a sprinkling of snow but it was 19 degrees this morning. I think the little ones are adorable and I'm sure they welcomed the snow. Love your chalkboard.

  14. I do see snowflakes and I love what you did with these. So darn creative as always. I won't be holding my breath for a snow day around here, but I can certainly see why your little ones were happy! Thanks so much for sharing with Vintage Inspiration Party.
