Fakin' it..."Old School"

So this is kind of a silly little post...
We were looking for a new light fixture for the stairway leading downstairs into the basement...which basically is "off limits" to anyone but family...it's "that" bad.  It's where laundry "hides" and future projects "wait" :)
So I decided to have fun with it...and instead of looking at the "same old" indoor ceiling lights, I headed straight to the outdoor lights...

...and found these.  Yes, it's plastic...no, I didn't realized that when I bought it.  But by that time the idea was already brewing so I ignored that little detail and went to work.

 Stencils, tape...

...paint pen.

And there you have it...UP...

...DOWN...in case anyone would get confused :)
Reminds me of an old school or factory light....well, sort of.  Like I said, silly.

Liking up at...

Now I guess I'd better get back to "work"...the clock it ticking on my "kid free" project weekend.  What are you up to this weekend?

Chat soon,

  2. If your friends are anything like mine, someone's going to turn that around at a party just to confuse people. It is a cute idea though!
