You might have noticed that my sweet husband is pretty "flexible" with the decorating around here. I mean really...would most husbands be "OK" with an old ladder over their bed? Or how about a broom top on your dining room table? Just to name a couple ;)
But when I talked about painting and changing these end tables...he made them himself a while back...I experienced some "resistance". We used them for many years as our night stands and then when we re-did our room they moved to our sons room...so when they lost their spot in there we brought them down to the Great Room and stacked them in a corner "for now". I'm finding they work great for odds and ends...and we always need a little more storage right? But they didn't quite "fit in" with my "style".
So instead of pushing the "issue"...I decided to compromise and try to find a way to make us both happy.
And I think these door plates tied on with twine will work...at least until he changes his mind ;)

Thanks for stopping...Joan (aka Signs of the Times) and I are getting ready to set up for Christmas in our booth this week!! So excited...have I told you how much I LOVE decorating for Christmas?? So I'll be back in a bit to show you what I've been "dreaming" up...
Until then,
Wow. That is one of my favorite things ever. I will definitely be on the look out for some plates. LOVE LOVE LOVE.
ReplyDeleteAnd pinning :)
So funny you would post the door plates. I just posted a whole pile I salvaged from my dads shop yesterday. Was not sure what to do with mine. You will have to check out my post. Great idea.
ReplyDeleteGenius! The rustic appeal of the door plates works well with the natural wood. Great compromise!
ReplyDeleteWell, maybe it isn't chippy...but a little chippy jewelry never hurt! I like it.

I love this idea! It gives the drawers a completely different look...so darn creative of you!!
ReplyDeleteGREAT idea - love how they are all different and they really do change the look a lot!
ReplyDeleteThat is a great compromise! I'm ultra impressed that your husband made the tables himself to begin with.
ReplyDeletevery unique!looks great!
ReplyDeleteSo your husband probably wouldn't want to compromise with me then.... take the feet off and it will look like a long tall vintage card catalog.

Cute idea! I'm glad my husband doesn't pay too much attention to what I do around the house. :@
ReplyDeleteLOVE this! So clever!

What the junk!?! :) Could you please send some of your creativity my way! I want to think of stuff like this!! Brilliant!!!!!
ReplyDeleteHow did I miss these? Girl, I think you and Mamie Jane need to team up and write a book on junky accessories or small home decor items. SERIOUSLY!! You 2 take the most common things and make the most fabulous creative objects. I would be your book publisher if I was in that business.

I believe that you can do with some % to force the message house a little bit, but instead of that, that is excellent blog. An excellent read. I will definitely be back.

Today, I went to the beach front with my
ReplyDeletekids. I found a sea shell and gave it to my 4
year old daughter and said "You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear." She placed the shell to
her ear and screamed. There was a hermit crab inside and it pinched her ear.
She never wants to go back! LoL I know this is completely off topic but I had to tell
someone!

I do have 2 questions for you if it's allright. Could you list of the complete urls of all your social sites like your linkedin profile, Facebook page or twitter feed?
