This is a "busy project"...how do you feel about those? Something that doesn't take much "crafty-ness"...just a plan and some time :)
Recently I made some centerpieces for a women's event at church...
...and I ended up with a couple dozen jar lids. So I grabbed the rims and some twine...
...tied a knot...
...and started wrapping...
...finished it off with another knot, and tucked it in.
A little ribbon adds some extra detail...and covers the the knots.
A sweet little button, a "sparkly" little star and some skinny twine to hang it...and you've got yourself a sweet little ornament.

I bet many of you are busy, busy preparing their hearts and homes for Thanksgiving on Thursday. I hope to stop back and show you a little Thanksgiving project we've been working on here...but it's not done yet. We shall see...if I get it done I'll show you, other wise we'll have a head start for next year ;)
Chat soon,
So CUTE...thanks for showing us how you made them. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family.

ReplyDeleteThese are fantastic! Very meditative to work on too. :) I feel like bursting out the doors and running to the store to buy a bunch of lids! Oh, wait, I think I have a few here somewhere...
ReplyDeleteLove, love, love this. . .and the jar centerpieces as well! Love your blog and most of all, that you're seeking to honor the Lord with the talents He has given you (which are many!) Blessings!
ReplyDeleteThese are so cute and what I really love is you've used supplies you already had on hand to create these. I'm all about that this year and will be trying this as I have a whole bag of these lids in my work room :)
ReplyDeleteLove the twine covered jar rings! I think I may try some with sea shells instead of the star. Thanks for the idea!!
ReplyDeleteHow do you hang the ornament?
ReplyDeleteI used a little bit of skinny twine. You can see it in the last 2 pictures :)
DeleteHOW have I missed your blog all these years!!!! I have spent a little while now snooping around and I am so glad to say I am your newest follower! Thank goodness for this post somehow ending up in my newsfeed on facebook! :) I have a little blog too that I haven't had much time for lately...but if you are curious, it is www.tootsietime.com
ReplyDeleteI want to make these for Christmas this year how long of a piece of twine do you need for each ornament. I have looked at several different posts and nobody tells you how long to cut the string
