So we started a new Thanksgiving tradition at our house this year...
A Tree of Gratitude
The idea started with one of these trays with the tree-like shape in the middle.
You might remember them from a previous post...when I used them for a FAMILY TREE PHOTO HOLDER.
This time I used a leaf stamp and some old book pages to make some leaves.
I made enough leaves for each person in my family to write something they are thankful for each day leading up to Thanksgiving...starting the Sunday before. This year we got started late so we did them all at once...but next year we will do them one at a time and then pray together thanking God for each blessing and then praying for those without.
The magnets are just made with little buttons...'cause buttons make everything cuter, right?
I had them write the year and their initial on the back of each leaf...we'll keep them from year to year and look back at all of our blessings...and someday this little drawer will be "overflowing with gratitude".
And of course you all made the "leaf" :)
I am so very thankful for each one of you and the support and encouragement you give me here on this little blog of mine. It has been such a blessing to me...
Life changing...REALLY...
Thank you!!
So as we celebrate Thanksgiving and head into the beautiful...but BUSY Christmas season, here is my prayer for you...
The Lord bless you and keep you!
The Lord let his face shine upon you, and be gracious to you!
The Lord look upon you kindly and give you peace!
Numbers 6:24-26
My dad is a retired minister and I can still hear his voice saying this at the end of each Sunday service while I was growing up...it gave me a boost and sense of excitement for the week ahead...and so I'll send you off with that today :)

I just found your blog while blog hopping. I have time while my turkey breast is in the oven. What a cute idea! And I especially love the button magnets.

What a fun idea and new tradition for your family. I remember this prayer at the end of every church service too...still do. Hope it was a great day for you and your family.
ReplyDeleteOh Laurel, this is such a beautiful idea. I have two of these tree platters in my shoppe and I'm definitely going to be borrowing your idea for one of them. I also copied your Bible Verses to share at my Bible study class. Love your blog!
