Still getting things back in order around here...
The first thing to get it's new "simple" winter look is that mantle...mantel? However you spell it :)
You might remember it's "fussy" look from Christmas...you can re-visit that post HERE.
And this is what it looks like now.
Still using those big crusty hooks for this table runner turned garland...
...still loving them. :)
I bought 2 of these live potted trees early November...and guess what?!? They are still alive. And what's that? Is that new growth I see? Now that's a Christmas miracle for sure :)
I love decorating for Christmas but I also love scaling back in January...it feels great to get back to the "tried and trues" and re-think things a bit...both in decorating and in life.

Enjoy your week...

Very pretty mantel for winter (I am pea green here, trust me!) Love the snowflakes because just because Christmas comes and goes, the snow remains for a while :D

So cute. Love the table runner, I mean snowflakes!
ReplyDeleteI love the subtle transition you made. Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteEvery time I see a mantle post, it tortures me just a little (because I don't have one) - but yours tortures me a lot because I always love your style - rust and white is a perfect combination!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for linking up to Knick of Time Tuesday, Laurel!

Ok,I love your simple mantel but since I've been writing MANTEL so much I thought I'd look it up...
ReplyDeleteThe MANTLE is a part of a terrestrial planet or other rocky body... a MANTAL is a measure of the wealth of a farm...and a MANTEL is an ornamental facing around a fireplace... At least that's what Wikipedia wants us to believe... However it is spelled all different ways in the google search for the fireplace surround...
Sorry Lauren, I'm a teacher :)

ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing this fabulous post to Potpourri Friday!
It's amazing how beautiful trees are. I try to have small trees all throughout my house to give my rooms more life and energy. I also like how plants clean the air in my home.
