You will need you "imagination" for this post...
I had a few rustic wood blocks left over from another project.
And a bunch of vintage finials that I have collected over time.
Add some twine and embellish with a couple of keys and a paper cutout for "leaves".
What do you think? Do you see it yet?
Whimsical, quirky...my favorite.
I hope somebody else "gets" it...these cuties are headed to our booth at Antiques Downtown later this week!

DeleteYou always have a great knack at putting great things together in an original way. Really like the simplicity of these but the execution at the same time. Great, classic pieces that would support any decorating in the home for Fall season.

ReplyDeleteI go through the same thing when I pick out a fabric pattern, a paint color, or a piece to sell in my shop. What will the most people like? I've given up on that and now I get what I love. I was just laughing to myself as I remembered a vignette I set up in the shop a long time ago. I set up a scene of a woman writing a good bye letter and leaving home. Suitcases next to the desk with a jacket on top, a letter starting out "Dear John," a tear-stained handkerchief, a knocked over wine glass, and a train ticket (all antique or vintage). No one got it. But, I still had fun putting it together. Of course, everyone will get the pumpkin finials. It is perfect. They even have the stem.
