Hello friends, is anyone still following along?
I've been a bad blogger lately. Life is busy and I'm feeling led in other directions right now. Hope you understand...
I decided I should stop in and show you my family room redo. Its been "mostly done" for a while now. I've been "tweaking" here and there...and plan to tweak some more. Been there?
My husband made the pipe shelves...and I filled them up with fun finds, crates and tool boxes for storage.
He used this tutorial from Beneath my Heart. FYI...be sure to remove the UPC stickers BEFORE you hang the pipes on the wall. We figured that out the hard way...and ended up covering them with black matte tape...lazy ;)
I knew this box was meant for me. My maiden name is "Sanders".
This piece off of an old car is the perfect shade of aqua...and the perfect spot for a treasured photo.
We found the big One Way sign at the flea market a few weeks ago. The console is from Target. I plan to add more little random drawers as I find them.
I REALLY want a sectional couch for this room...but until then, I just pushed our two couches together to "pretend".
I bought the cool MN sign from The Vintage Estate. Don't you love it? She sells locally at The Carver Junk Company.
I still haven't found the perfect end tables. But I did find 2 of these metal baskets at the thrift store.
I turned them upside down and added cheese box lids for the top. They will get a "new home" when I figure out what I really want for this space.
I bought this cool table from my friends at Antiques Downtown.
It's an old lab table.
I think I will let my kids scratch their names in the top too...just for fun :)
That's all I have to share for now.
I'll show you more as we tweak some more...
Hope you are all enjoying your summer so far.
Chat soon,
so many goodies here I want to come and snatch!!!!! Lovely and so much details and character!
ReplyDeleteLove your family room! Wanna come over and help me with mine that is loaded with re-sell treasures??
ReplyDeletewarmly,
deb
What a great room! Of course, I love your selves, but your signage and map really make it go. That 'born & raised' sign is great - need to find one for my state (WV). :)

It looks absolutely amazing! I want to be there! Just curious how difficult were the shelves to make? I want to make a wall unit like that but with a desk height shelf in the center (below a window) connecting the two side tall ones. Great job on all of it!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun and cozy room you've created! I love every one of your vintage touches, especially the soda crate shelves and the end table. Great job Laurel!!
ReplyDeleteI love the urban, industrial feel you've pulled together in the room. Especially love the photo hanging on the old car remnant by the magnet and the upside down baskets turned tables. I think they are perfect! Great job.

I love everything about this room. Makes me want to sit and stare at everything to take it all in.
ReplyDeleteGreat space....I love everything about it!
ReplyDeleteHow high are your ceilings in this room? Love the ceiling treatment...but I think my ceilings might be too low.

ReplyDeleteThat pink camper is killing me! Too cute! But then again I think I like everything in your family room including the ceiling!
ReplyDeleteLove it, Laurel! Love your little camper trucks! Those are so vintage-y cute!
ReplyDeleteLove everything. I could just look around all day. So fun.
ReplyDeleteIt turned out wonderful, Laurel. I love all your repurposed and upcycled furniture and decorations. The car part is really cool and I'm in love with the arrow shelf.
ReplyDeleteHave a happy Sunday :)!
Hugs,
Julia
