Vintage Headboard Patio Fence

I spent the afternoon outside...I was planting up this old ash cans when I realized that I don't think I've posted about our vintage headboard patio fence.

We had been looking for a way to add a little "character" to an otherwise "blah" concrete patio.  My husband stumbled across a a bunch of these vintage head boards at a junk sale while out and about.  (Little did we know at the time that it was a "Divine Connection."  It was actually The Country Junk Sale...you know the one I'm always talking about??? Larry and Cindy have since become friends and booth mates for the last 3 Junk Market Shows...cool huh?)

My husband buried some PVC tubes into the ground and set the base of the metal headboards right down into the tubes...does that make sense?

Rusting to perfection...
I've been meaning to add some kind of finial to the top of the headboards for the last few years.  I just haven't found the "right" thing yet...maybe this is the year :)

I still love it after all these years...

Such a great place to relax and enjoy :)

(P.S. as I look at these pictures I realize how sad those chairs look...they definitely need some "sprucing" and maybe a couple of outdoor pillows.  Add that to "the list"...to be continued...)

Have a great weekend...I hope to finish up a few projects so I can show you all next week.

O.K-Cup Storage Stand

Chipping with Charm: Stacked Pans for K-cups...http://chippingwithcharm.blogspot.com/

My family gave me a Keurig coffee maker for Christmas...and I love it...but how to store all those little cups has been a dilema.  I know they sell those handy little stands.  But you know I would want something a little bit "junky-er" right?

So this is what I finally came up with...

Chipping with Charm: Stacked Pans for K-cups...http://chippingwithcharm.blogspot.com/

I got my inspiration for this little project from some other cool layered pan stands I've seen out there in Blogland like...
and
Thanks for the inspiration ladies!!
You should definitely "hop" over and peek at their versions...and all of their other very CLEVER ideas while you are at it :)

I had a couple of these old cake pans in a couple of different sizes.

This spindle-y stool leg fit perfectly in the metal tubes in the cake pans...meant to be??

The glass handle is a curtain rod finial which I attached with "Amazing Goop" glue...

LOVE this stuff :)

I actually used it to attach the "Lazy Susan" to the bottom too...just call me "Lazy Laurel" ;)

I was thinking about adding labels to the little slots...but I really don't want to cover up any of that fun writing.  I think my guests will figure it out, don't you?
(And yes, my assortment of flavors is a "little excessive...I know.  I went a little crazy when I first got it...trying to pick a favorite :)

Looks kind of "cozy" there on my counter doesn't it?  But if I ever get my little "studio" that I've been dreaming of...

I think it would be great for these little paint bottles too...don't you?
(Side note...I have no idea why my pictures upload sideways sometimes???  Do you?)
Well anyway...

Light Reading??? Chippy Vent Cover Magazine Holder...

I've carried this chippy little vent cover back and forth to many shops and shows...but I think it's finally found a "home" with me :)

A couple of holes, a couple of screws...

...add a couple of favorite magazines...and there you go!

Now, I'm not "admitting" anything here...but this might be a nice place to hide away for a moment or 2 to enjoy a little alone time and some light reading ;)

Spring "Greens"...

It's a warm beautiful day here in Minnesota.  Gets me thinking "green" :)

I bought this fern stamp at the thrift store this winter...

Add a little green paint and some old book pages...and you've got yourself some "Spring Greens".

The addition of some real fern leaves adds a little "fresh" fun.

And tucked them in...

...here...

...there...

...and EVERYWHERE ;)

That's it for my "Spring Decorating" inside...can't wait to get out to pretty up my junk outside :)

Hope you are having a great week so far!
