Would You Buy It? Please say yes...

Hi everyone...if you are a follower of my little blog you might already know that I have been frantically preparing for the JunkMarket Under Glass "Fall Edition"So with set up dates fast appreaching I haven't had much time to post and comment...please forgive me.  After next week I hope to be back in the "loop".  Thanks for understanding...

I thought I'd take a quick break from my sorting, painting, cleaning, creating to see what you think...you see this is my first time doing an actual booth at one of these big events.  Thankfully I have 2 friends in my booth...but still as excited as I am, I'm a little...ok a lot...nervous.  In addition to the "practical to pretty" junk creations that I love to do...I've been collecting as is "junk" to sell as well.  You know, "add some flowers"..."put a candle in it"..."clip a picture to it" kind of junk.  And frankly...I think I've collected a little TOO MUCH of it...oh no!!!  So now I just want to know...WOULD YOU BUY IT???
So here's a little peek around...tell me what you think...

Lots of "heavy stuff"...for layering and stacking...

An assortment of old wheels...

I do have further plans for these bike rims...notice the added door knobs...

I just LOVE old grates...

Of course some "chippy" goodies...I'm planning to paint those big spindly things.  Thinking cream...

I think I may have to keep that old church sign...I love old church stuff...

Metal boxes drawers and bins galore...

Remember these old drawers?  They are coming with me too :)

I'll post pictures next week and show you how it all looks in our space.

So as you can see I went a little crazy collecting...and I only gave you a little peek.  So please, oh please tell me you would buy some of this stuff...otherwise I'm in big trouble!!!  My hubby is gonna have to park his car in the garage soon :)

Of course I'm linking up over at...

Wish me luck ;)

Junk Friends...getting ready for JunkMarket Under Glass...

I'm so excited for the JunkMarket Under Glass event coming up in a couple of weeks. I'll be there doing a booth with 2 of my favorite junkin' friends. Larry Moore of The Country Junk Sale and Joan Simpson, "Signs of the Times".

I thought I'd let you have a little peek at what they've been up to...

You might already know Larry, posts on Junk Market Style and "wows" us with pictures of the amazing primitive style furniture he makes using salvaged materials.

LOVE this dry sink with those big huge hinges...just one of the touches that make his pieces so much fun.

Check out the tin on the doors of these cupboards. Another great touch.

(Of course I've been whipping up some paper flowers...can't resist ;)

Larry never, ever cuts corners. His pieces are built to stand the test of time.

Wait until you see this farm table...the top is made from beams out of an old house. You can even see the holes from the old square nail heads...

...one of a kind character.

Plus an assortment of one of a kind creations.

We've all "drooled" over the pictures Larry and his wife Cindy post of their famous Country Junk Sale. Can't wait to see what else they dig out of those big 'ol junk piles!!!

And my friend Joan is known for her "words"...she makes cool signs out of found objects, old doors, windows...anything...

She likes numbers too :)

Of course I've been piling up "few" junk goodies myself.

So have you marked your calendars for the big event yet? Please come...I'll introduce you to my friends :)

September 7-10, 2011

I'll be running around like a crazy woman this week getting my "junk" ready...PLUS, enjoying my kiddos before school starts next week!!!  So if you don't hear from me you'll know why.  But I will definitely check in after we set up with some photos of our booth.  Hope everyone has a great week!

A Few "Pretties"...just because...

I purchased these glass pieces form an old light fixture a while back.

Their new purpose was "obvious" to me with that perfect little hole for hanging...

little twine and fun little junky hook detail.

I just used Mod Podge to attach some pages from the glossary of am old French textbook.

And used Gorilla Super Glue to add an assortment of rusty bits and pretty bobbles..."just because".  No real "purpose"...they just get to hang around and look pretty.  What a life :)

What are you up to this week?  I'm still busy, busy storing up my treasures for our booth at the upcoming JunkMarket Under Glass event coming up September 7-10th...get more info HERE :)

Thanks for stopping by...your sweet comments and encouragement keep me creating!!!

Grubby Box of Clock Stuff...

So I happened upon this box of grubby old clocks and parts at a garage sale the other day for $10.

Four old cool looking clocks...

...this cool black clock face...

...and other assorted parts and pieces.

I almost didn't buy it...

When it comes to garage sales, I'm a "bargain hunter" but I hate negotiating...I need my hubby along for that.  So if the price is higher than I want to spend I usually just pass...but this time I actually REALLY wanted it...so I tried...no go.  So I said "thanks anyway" and walked away...as far as my car...and then my son said "Why didn't you buy it mom?  Don't you have $10 in your pocket?".  I did...I was being stubborn. I went back and bought it with a smile on my face...and no regrets.  I'll have fun with these little grubby goodies :)

So how 'bout you?  Would you have bought it for $10?  And how do you feel about negotiating?  Fun or stressful?

Joining in on the fun again over at...

Still Seeing Angels...clothes pin and sheet music ornaments...

Chipping with Charm: Clothes pin angel ornaments...http://www.chippingwithcharm.blogspot.com/

You might remember from a previous post...SEEING ANGELS...that random things at this house seem to come together to form angels.

And I'd had a little stash of old clothes pins hanging out just waiting for their "transformation".  So the other day when my "littlest charmer" said "Mommy, can we make something?"  We pulled them out and started to play...

Here's what we started with...

She sorted for round keys...aka halos...while I super glued.

Then we let them sit to dry...the hardest part for an almost 4 year old :)

Then we tore the sheet music into quarters and folded the papaer accordian style.  I say "we" because "she" supervised.

Then folded them in half to find the middle.

Then we used glue dots to attach the wings to the body...

...on both sides.

Secured it with a little twine.

Added another glue dot to each side to "fan" the wings.

And there you go...another easy little angel.
