Milk Can Lid...for the birds

Yet another simple little idea I don't think I've shown you???  A little rusty milk can lid turned bird feeder.  I got a bunch of these lids on an auction a couple of years ago, so I am always looking for new ways to use them...

You might remember this one I planted up...OUT FRONT.

Well this one we hung from wire in a tree...OUT BACK.

It originally had bird seed in it for a bird feeder...as you can see, water has replaced the seeds.  So now it's a "bird bath".  Our birds are clean...but hungry.  Guess I need to get more seed!!

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!!  I'm hoping to get some more projects done...my mind is literally "floating" with ideas...been there???

Button, Button, I have a Button...FINALLY ;)

Well...it's probably no secret...I am not "techie"...AT ALL.  Which is probably VERY apparent from my "oh so" un-blingy blog.  It's a wonder I even have a blog...really.  And I must admit I've always admired all those cute little blog buttons on your side bars...but even the thought of "HTML codes" gets my heart racing and my mind spinning!  But when I came across this very clear tutorial over at Projects Around the House featured on Thrifty Decorating, I decided to try...again.  And guess what???  I think I've got it...finally!!  Wooo-hoo...button envy no more :)
So check out my chippy little button over there on my sidebar

What do you think?
Kinda cute? ;)

Hope you are having a great week!

My "Type" of Storage :)

So I went into my son's room this morning to take a couple of pictures of the flag my husband made a few years ago...

...because I wanted to join in the fun over at Funky Junk Interiors...Patriotic Projects.

My hubby made a bunch of these flags a while back for friends and family.  He used 1 X 4 rough cut lumber and corrugated metal.
My son's name starts with an "L" too...so we've got an "L thing" going on in here :)

And while I was in there...I realized I never showed you the fun idea we came up with for showing off his Lego mini figure collection.

They fit perfectly in this old type tray...don't you think?

I (of course) let him to the arranging...looks like he's hoping to collect a "few" more Bey Blades doesn't it? :)
My "type" of storage...I'm gonna make a "junker" out of him yet!

Thanks for visiting!

"Brag" Board...from metal shelving???

This seems like maybe a better "Back to School" post...than and first day of Summer post...but if you are like me, you've been sorting and tossing "filing" all sorts of fun school stuff.  I'm just not ready to pack it all away just yet...

That's when I remembered these metal shelf pieces I got at a thrift store a while back.

Not really sure which part of the shelf these were...I of course wasn't going to use them "as intended" anyway...imagine that?! ;)

I used my favorite "Amazing Goop" glue to attach the yard sticks for a little extra fun.

And whipped up a couple "age appropriate" magnets...
Mr. Charming is 8...

...and little Miss Charming is 4.
I let them help me pick out an assortment of favorite projects and memories from the school year.
That was the fun part :)
Here they are...hanging in our hallway to the basement...very BAD lighting!
Just my "Old School" fixture.

And now I leave you with a little thought...I sure do try :)
Have a great rest of your week!

Paint Mixer Flower...still stirring things up outside...

I'm still having fun outside...

When I saw this attachment for a paint mixer at the flea market on Saturday...I knew just what I would do with it :)
Just add a couple of rusty bits...and you've got yourself a garden stake.
Yep, it's that easy :)

(PS...I put mine in an area of my landscaping where nobody goes...if you are thinking of putting this somewhere that someone might fall or hurt themselves, you should skip the sharp drill bits.  Gotta be safe!!)
I actually got the idea a couple of years ago at a flea market in Florida.  My husband talked me out of lugging a paint mixer on the plane.  So when I saw this one here near home...it was mine in an instant...and I got the "eye roll" from my husband, again ;)

I would say this in the same junk flower "species" as the rusty bit flowers I made this winter for the Junk Market shows. Remember them?

Thanks for visiting...
I'll be back with more, soon!!
Lots of projects in the works...
Until then,
